The article shows the modernization of the securities market of Honduras from the early 1990s. A background on the creation of securities exchanges and the crisis suffered by the Honduran financial system is presented. Also noted is the collaboration of local brokerage firms and financial institutions for regulations including the Securities Market Law and the Law of the Financial System. The role of the government in regaining domestic securities market is confidence discussed.
