Este texto pretende mostrar el uso ideológico que subyace a las interpretaciones de lo sublime y que supondrían un "uso perverso de lo estético". Se evalúan críticamente las interpretaciones realizadas por Kant y Lyotard del concepto de lo sublime con el fin de establecer los posibles usos opresores que éstas implican. Una vez develada la opresión que subyace al uso tradicional que se ha hecho del concepto de lo sublime, se liga esta opresión con el concepto de hegemonía. Se concluye estableciendo una posible relación entre los vínculos opresión-hegemonía con la noción de Ideología y la relación opresión-hegemonía-ideología que subyace a las interpretaciones sobre lo sublime

The oppressive sublime or the sublime as ideology. This paper shows the ideological use underlying to the interpretations of the sublime, which would be a 'perverse use of the aesthetic'. It critically assesses the interpretations made by Kant and Lyotard to the concept of the sublime, in order to establish the possible oppressive uses they entail. Once unveiled the oppression that underlies to the traditional use of the concept sublime, this oppression is linked to the concept of hegemony. It concludes by identifying a possible relationship between the link oppression-hegemony with the notion of Ideology, and the relationship oppression-hegemony-ideology that underlies the interpretations of the sublime.
