  La iconografía mariana constituye una de las más abundantes representaciones del arte medieval, especialmente en la escultura devocional de la baja edad media. A partir del análisis de las piezas conservadas de imaginería mariana del gótico mallorquín, se aporta un estudio tipológico, iconográfico y estilístico de esta manifestación artística, clave para entender el alcance del arte gótico y el ulterior desarrollo de las artes plásticas en la isla.

  Marian iconography is one of the most copious representations of medieval art, especially in devotional sculpture of the late Middle Age. Based on an analysis of the surviving pieces of Marian statues of the Majorcan Gothic, a typological, stylistic and iconographic study of this art is provided, which is the clue to understand the scope of the Gothic art and further development of the visual arts in the island.
