El presente artículo se enmarca en un trabajo de investigación con una trayectoria de más de 15 años y del que, de momento, es su último eslabón. Se trata de un método global de valoración paisajística centrado en la vegetación como elemento principal de las distintas unidades susceptibles de ser evaluadas. Hasta la fecha, dicho método se ha plasmado en numerosos trabajos: libros, artículos, capítulos de libro, comunicaciones y ponencias ...
Su aplicación se ha circunscrito a diferentes territorios templados y boreales de Europa. Se aplica ahora a la Región Mediterránea chilena con el objetivo de constatar su eficacia y viabilidad en otros ámbitos a los anteriormente reseñados
The study presented in this paper takes part of a research project carried out for the past 15 years and it is, for now, its last stage. It’s a global landscape valuation method focused on vegetation as a main element of different units that can be evaluated. So far, the use of this method has resulted in numerous works: books, articles, book chapters, communications and presentations and it has been applied in the study of different temperate and boreal regions of Europe. The method has been applied in the study and assessment of diverse vegetation landscapes of the Chilean Mediterranean Region.
