    Se analiza la producción científica del profesor Ignacio Olábarri, sus rasgos principales y algunas de sus ideas centrales. Se inició en su trayectoria investigadora a través del estudio de las relaciones laborales de Vizcaya durante la Restauración. En torno a ese tema central extendió sus intereses, ampliándolos con estudios sobre la España de entre fines del siglo XIX y primer tercio del XX, así como los relativos al ámbito vasco-navarro. Por último, ha dedicado también un número considerable de textos a la teoría y la historia de la historiografía.

    This article analizes the scientific work of Professor Ignacio Olábarri, its main features and some of his central ideas. He began his research career studying industrial relations of Biscay during the Restoration. Around this central issue he extended their subjects with studies on Spain from the late nineteenth century and early twentieth, and those relating to the Basque- Navarre area. Finally, he has also devoted considerable atention on the theory and history of historiography.
