Las disputas entre miembros de un mismo gremio fue un hecho muy común en el devenir diario de esta clase de instituciones. La cofradía de pintores, bordadores y escultores de la ciudad de Mallorca de finales del siglo XVI no fue una excepción. Con el presente trabajo se pretende dar una nueva visión sobre la jerarquía, el poder y la relación entre los principales artistas del gremio, así como sus relaciones con las principales instituciones de poder de la isla.

The disputes between members of the same guild were a very common fact, occurring daily in this type of institution. The guild of painters, embroiderers and sculptors of the city of Majorca in the end of the 16th century was no exception. The ambition of this present work is to provide a new vision on the hierarchy, the power and the relationship between the main artists of the guild, as well as thier relations with the main institutions in the island.
