    En este trabajo me ocuparé de analizar algunos de los aspectos más importantes del mundo de la técnica tal y como éste se presenta en la sociedad occidental actual. Atenderé a la notable incidencia de los productos e instrumentos técnicos en la vida del hombre medio y, sobre todo, analizaré la profunda crisis de los deseos que aquél padece curiosamente en un mundo casi técnicamente perfecto, o lo que es igual, rebosante de facilidades y, sobre todo, de posibilidades de índole técnico-material. Para cumplir con mi propósito, recurriré a una serie de autores (Marcuse, Horkheimer, Adorno, Habermas, Sartori y Ortega) que complementan de forma excepcional mis ideas acerca de tan sorprendente hecho.

    In this paper I will try to analyze some of the outstanding aspects concerning the world of technique in the present western society. I will focus on the notable incidence of the technical products and devices upon the life of the common man. Above all, I will pay attention to the deep crisis of the wishes from which he suffers in a world which is almost technically perfect or, in other words, a society plentiful in facilities and specially in technical and material possibilities. In order to achieve this, I will recur to several authors (Marcuse, Horkheimer, Adorno, Habermas, Sartori, and Ortega), who complement exceptionally my ideas about this event.
