    Este trabajo se centra en el análisis de la función semántica del complemento preposicional argumental en los estudios gramaticales del español y en cuál ha sido, en consecuencia, el tratamiento de la preposición que lo introduce. Con este objetivo se exponen y analizan las dos perspectivas fundamentales desde las cuales se ha abordado esta cuestión.

    Así, comprobaremos no solo que no existe una caracterización semántica clara de esta función sintáctica sino también que dicha caracterización no puede constituir un criterio firme a la hora de diferenciarla de otras funciones, como la del complemento circunstancial

    This paper deals with the analysis of the semantic function of the argumental prepositional complement in Spanish grammatical studies and, therefore, how the preposition which introduces it has been dealt.

    With this purpose it describes and analyzes the two basic perspectives from this issue has been studied. Thus, we can realize not only that there is no a clear semantic characterization of this syntactic function but also that such characterization cannot be a solid criterion for differentiating it from other functions, such as the adverbial
