    El propósito de esta ponencia es explicar la metodología utilizada y resultados obtenidos en la investigación de �Los Jardines del Pedregal de San Ángel� a través del análisis del proyecto arquitectónico.

    El punto de partida con el que se aproximó a las obras que constituyen esta ciudad-jardín fue tratando de re-construirlas de la misma forma que cada arquitecto las había concebido. Esta metodología incorporó las propias herramientas del arquitecto, orden, proceso de análisis y síntesis, dibujo y reflexión.

    Utilizando estos instrumentos en el proceso de análisis se consiguió aproximarse a la concepción de las obras y su relación con el lugar. Mediante relaciones proyectuales desveladas por este análisis se planteó una tentativa cronología de las obras, y por lo tanto construir una historia inexistente hasta entonces.

    The purpose of this paper is to explain the methodology that has been used and the results of the investigation that I have done on "Los Jardines del Pedregal de San Angel". The subject of the research was the architectural design in that particular garden city in Mexico.

    The work�s approach consisted on trying to re-design the houses and the place, in the same way that each of the architects involved intended so. This methodology incorporated the architect's own tools: His thinking process through the analysis and synthesis, the way of introducing order, and drawing, among others. Using these tools in the analysis process, approached me to the original design concept of the works and their relationship with the place. Through the relationships I discovered among the different projects, I made a tentative proposal on the chronology of the works, that allowed me to build an unknown history.
