Investigación en ausencia de fuentes. Estudio de la distribución y cuantificación de la luz en la catedral de Toledo

    La presente ponencia trata de acercarse al hecho de la �investigación en ausencia de fuentes escritas�. En ella se muestra una metodología que nos permite estudiar un hecho concreto como es el de cuantificar la luz en el interior de una catedral gótica de manera sistemática y con una única fuente principal: �la propia catedral�. La metodología propuesta recurre a los datos que nos muestra la catedral para el entendimiento de �su luz�, es decir se basa en su fisionomía y condicionantes luminosos (volumetría, vanos, ventanas�). A raíz de esos datos se elabora un modelo en 3 dimensiones al que poder aplicar un programa de soleamiento. Este método pretende en una futura línea de investigación, ser exportable a más catedrales, pudiendo por tanto, compararlas y clasificarlas en función de sus �calidades lumínicas�.

    The following paper is presented in order to approach the fact of the investigation without written sources. It shows us a methodology that brings us the possibility of studying the quantification and qualification of the light distribution inside of a gothic cathedral in a systematic way and with just one direct source: �the cathedral�. This methodology researches into the values that the own cathedral can show us in order to understand the pattern of the gothic light, such us the volumetric values, windows, vaults... Once we have compiled the information we developed a 3 dimension cathedral model to which we can apply specific solar software. This method will try, in a future investigation, to be exportable to the rest of the gothic cathedrals in order to compare and classify its �light qualities�.
