Resumen de La tipografia Carreras. La trajectòria d'una col·lecció de matrius xilogràfiques des del barroc fins al segle XX

  La col·lecció de matrius xilogràfiques de la impremta gironina Tipografia Carreras, fundada l'any 1842, comprèn un dels fons més importants d'Europa. La seva importància rau tant en la varietat iconogràfica dels temes com en l'àmplia trajectòria d'aquestes peces, que va des del segle XVII fins al XX. Una gran quantitat de matrius es poden datar gràcies al fet que algunes apareixen signades pel mateix gravador i alhora ens permeten situar les peces en l'àmbit de la il·lustració del gravat popular al barroc.

  El valor intrínsec d'aquesta col·lecció rau en què va pertànyer a antigues impremtes gironines que van actuar des del segle XVII a Girona i que la família Carreras va anar adquirint al llarg de la seva història com a nissaga d'impressors. L'any 1984 la Diputació de Girona compra aquesta col·lecció que actualment es troba al Museu d'Art de Girona. El present article és fruit d'un estudi realitzat en la recent catalogació d'aquest conjunt de matrius que ha permès ampliar la visió sobre aquestes peces tan preuades i que confirma, en alguns casos, la seva originalitat barroca.

  A TIPOGRAFIA CARRERAS. The trajectory of a collection of woodcuts from Baroque to the twentieth century.

  The collection of woodcuts from the Girona's printing called Tipografia Carreras founded in 1842, comprises one of the biggest compilations of xilographies of Europe.

  Its importance lies both in the variety of iconographic themes as the wide trajectory of these works which ranging from the seventeenth centrury to the twentieth.

  A lot of these pieces can be dated because some of them are signed and also allow us to put these woodcuts in the field of Baroque's popular illustration.

  The intrinsic value of this collection lies in that belonged before to old generations of Girona printers who used them since the XVII century and the Carreras family had collected along of their printing trajectory. In 1984 the Council of Girona bought this collection which now is in the Museu d'Art de Girona.

  This article is the result of a recent study in the cataloging of this set of woodcuts are obtained more valuable information on both these pieces, confirming in some cases, their original Baroque.
