The ‘Marzocco’ was, traditionally considered as an esthetic and literary review, early connected with a anti liberal feeling spread among young writers in later 19th Century, in Italy. In spite of this interpretation, the author points out the importance of this review in the coming up of new perspectives of modern Italian nationalism and the origin of a modern way of intellectual intervention.
