  • A double blind experiment was carried out with sixty asthmatic children in Cuba, during twenty-six weeks, with propolis and placebo. The propolis was taken orally, in a proportion of 1 2.5 mg/ml, by the experimental group of children. The control group took a placebo. The results of the experiment were valorate according to a symptoms scale from zero to three. the therapeutic effect of propolis with regard to placebo was considered significant, with a clear dependence (p < 0.05) between use or propolis or placebo and presence and seriousness of asthmatic symptoms.
