  • There is a general misuse of radiodiagnostics everywhere; that's the reason because the radiologic card has been introduced into several countries as another health card, to control the use of radiodiagnostics.

    The author of this work proposes his introduction in Spain too, specially in paediatrics; in this area the misuse is substantial.

    With the radiologic card the general practitioner, or the radiologist, will take into account the risk/benefit ratio according to the existence of repeated explorations or a large radiologic case history that doesn't correspond with the age of the patient. Through the tracking of statistical data, the administration will be able to obtain a sampling to quantify the average dose that receives the population.
