There is an explosion of supposed "new" therapies, and the term 'new age" doesn't mean really a new method of treatment, but and old one with a new scope. There is also a battle between the "bad" orthodox methos and the "good" alternative therapies. These later can be, in many cases, only empirical without a scientific evidence. Many patients are like pilgrims searching one and another therapies till they find a supposed one that is effective, usually they find the therapy in function of its personality factors, instead this therapy can be useless and the result of a good interaction between patient and theraphist. We must see this problem from a critica! point of view and promote a quality control in alternative therapies, because part of them can be merely a quackery.
