The scope of TCM on medicinal plants is far different from western scope. Treating wind-cold diseases like asthma, or colds, with chinese herbal medicines must have several particular requisites: Majar, minar and organoleptic or sensitive aspects. Usually, heating plants are pungent and hot, due to their content in essential oils, like happens in mustard oil. The chinese point of view, ideollogically far from the western one, has a similar treatment but with chinese plants. The author propases that western plants like thym, rosemary, or others, can be as useful as chinese ones in TCM if we use them with the chinese method of electing the treatment.
