  • My personal child delivery experience made me study medicine and conduct research work on Peru's ancient history. The tradicional child birth process, usually a home delivery, is part of the Andean Amazon Weltanschaung (cosmovision). Most aspects of traditional birth have scientific support, but the precarious social and economic situation, as well as cultural differences, make it d ifficult to gain access to Academic Medicine when it is absolutely necessary due to obstetric reasons. Our aim is to build up a network for maternal and child health in which Traditional and Academic practicioners are working hand in hand.
