Resumen de El Projecte "Canto sense vergonya"

  «Canto sense vergonya» és un instrument de promoció del català i de l'occità a través de la música. Sorgit d'una iniciativa de la Secretaria de Política Lingüística i vinculat a la campanya «Dóna corda al català», el projecte agrupa formacions joves de diferents estils musicals —l'únic requisit és que cantin en català o occità— que participen desinteressadament en un concert conjunt. Si bé les tres primeres actuacions van tenir lloc exclusivament a Lleida, la darrera s'ha dut a terme simultàniament a Reus, Girona, Lleida i Vic, amb la col·laboració de diversos mitjans de comunicació locals que han retransmès els diferents concerts.

  L'article fa un repàs dels orígens de la proposta i de com ha anat creixent amb el temps, fins a convertir-se en Canto.cat, un producte exitós entre el públic jove. L'autor destaca que una de les claus d'aquest èxit ha estat aconseguir que els joves siguin i se sentin actors del projecte, i no solament destinataris. Canto.cat gaudeix del suport de músics de renom i de diverses organitzacions privades, que han aportat capital i noves idees al projecte.

  “Canto sense vergonya” (I Sing and I’m not Ashamed of It) is an instrument for the promotion of the Catalan and Occitan languages through music. Arising from an initiative of the Secretariat for Language Policy in connection with the campaign “Dóna corda al català”, the project brings together young musical groups of different styles. The only conditions are that they sing in Catalan or Occitan and that they appear for free in a joint concert.

  Although the first three actions were carried out in Lleida alone, the latest event was held simultaneously in Reus, Girona, Lleida and Vic, with the cooperation of various local communication media that broadcast the respective concerts.

  This paper reviews the origins of the project and how it has developed over time, becoming Canto.cat, a successful product among young people. The author emphasises that one of the keys to this success has been to induce young people to participate and feel they are an important part of the project and not just its target. Canto.cat has the support of prominent musicians and various private organisations that have provided ideas and funding for the project.
