    Vorgestellt werden die ersten Ergebnisse der deutsch-kroatischen Untersuchungen auf der mitteldalmatischen Adriainsel des Hl. Clemens. Auf der zu den Pakleni Otoci gehörenden, zwischen dem antiken Pharos (Hvar) und Issa (Vis) gelegenen Insel fanden sich Reste einer römischen villae maritima. Gestützt auf die geophysikalischen Prospektionene und Vermessungen der kampagne 2010 lassen sich nunmehr vier Bauphasen unterschieden. Dabei spricht das Fundgut für einen Beginn der Ansiedlung schon in späthellenisch-republikanischer Zeit und eine Fortdauer bis in die spätantik-byzantinische Epoche. Neben den architektonischen Überresten der Wohnanlage (pars rustica) fanden sich Hinweise auf eine Nutzung der angrenzenden Meeresbucht als Saline oder piscina vivaria.

    The results of an interdisciplinary German-Croatian investigation on the Central Dalmatian Adriatic island of St Clement are presented in this article for the first time. The remains of a Roman villa maritima were found on the Pakleni Islands, between ancient Pharos (Hvar) and Issa (Vis). Based on the geophysical prospecting and surveys of the 2010 campaign, these remains can now be divided into four building phases. The recovered finds attest to the beginning of the settlement as early as Late Hellenistic / Republican times and continuation of habitation until the Late Roman / Early Byzantine period. In addition to the architectural remains of the estate (pars rustica), evidence was also found for the use of the adjacent bay as a salt refinery or piscina vivaria.

    Sont présentés ici les premiers résultats des investigations germano-croates sur l'île de Saint-Clément au large de la Dalmatie centrale. Les vestiges d'une villa maritima romaine ont été repérés sur cette île des Pakleni Otoci située entre l'antique Pharos (Hvar) et Issa (Vis). On peut actuellement distinguer quatre phases de construction sur la base des prospections géophysiques et des levés effectués lors de la campagne de 2010. Le mobilier indique un début d'occupation déjà à l'époque tardo-hellénistique et républicaine, qui perdure jusqu'à l'époque antique tardive et byzantine. Aux vestiges architecturaux de la résidence (pars rustica) se sont ajoutés les indices d'une exploitation de la baie voisine comme saline ou piscina vivaria.
