    Este artículo distingue en primer lugar entre el dato del ajuste fino del universo y sus posibles interpretaciones. Mientras que el tema de las posibles interpretaciones sigue siendo muy controvertido, el dato en sí es ampliamente aceptado. El autor más destacado entre los que rechazan el dato del ajuste fino del universo es Victor Stenger. El artículo resume la discusión entre Stenger y Barnes sobre el tema del ajuste fino y apunta varias conclusiones derivables de dicha discusión.

    This article distinguishes between the fact of the fine-tuning of the universe and the possible interpretations of this fact. While the issue of the possible interpretations is still very controversial, the fact itself is widely accepted. Victor Stenger is the most prominent among those authors who reject the fact of fine-tuning of the universe. This article summarizes the discussion between Stenger and Barnes on the topic of the finetuning and points some derivable conclusions of that discussion.
