    La finalidad del programa de investigación que desarrollan el Museo Nacional de Cerámica y la Real Sociedade Arqueológica Lusitana consiste en aportar nuevos datos sobre las relaciones históricas, económicas, estéticas y sociales, entrevistas desde la evidencia de las cerámicas. Con este objetivo, el autor ha centrado su atención en el Alemtejo, donde se conservan gran número de edificios históricos revestidos con azulejería de Valencia y de Sevilla, procediendo a la revisión sistemática y a la recopilación, tanto gráfica como histórica, al igual que de la literatura existente.

    Purpose of present research project, carried out by the Spanish National Ceramic Museum and the Real Sociedade Arqueológica Lusitana, is to bring new light on historical, economic as well as social relationships between both lands, supported by the evidence of ceramic remains. To do that, we focus our attention precisely at this time in the Alemtejo region, where the bulk of buildings with Spanish tile pannels from Valencia and Sevilla is found in Portugal, reviewing and collecting on the spot the historical and graphic documentation as well literature on the subject.
