  • The article discusses housing and living patterns in 17th century Rome, Italy with a focus on the establishment of households and gender identity around family models and shared habitation models. Topics discussed include the role of creating a family in the development of concepts of masculinity, the concept of independence attributed to men as heads of family, and the role of shared housing among male workers in Rome during this time.
