  • On October 6th, the First Latin American Summit on Science and Technology, presided over by Their Majesties the king & Queen of Spain, brought together at the Seville World Fair the principal figures responsible for science from the Latin American countries, Portugal an Spain. as well as representatives of observer agencies -CEPAL, OAS and UNESCO- on the Latin American Science and Technology for Development Programme (CYTED-D). The discussions at the meeting were concerned with scientific and technical cooperation in the context of national science policies.
