Resumen de Clasificación, diagnóstico y tratamiento de los tumores odontogénicos

  Durante los últimos años, la clasificación de los tumores odontogénicos ha sufrido múltiples modificaciones dificultando, en muchos casos, su correcto diagnóstico y tratamiento. La clasificación actual los define como entidades diferentes con comportamientos biológicos propios y, por tanto, con tratamientos distintos. El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer las actualizaciones más recientes en la clasificación de estos tumores, así como proporcionar al veterinario clínico una herramienta básica para poder diagnosticar y tratar los tumores odontogénicos más frecuentes en perros y gatos.

  During the last year, the classification of the odontogenic tumors has undergone multiple changes, complicating the correct diagnosis and treatment greatly. The current classification defines the odontogenic tumors as different entities with specific biologic behaviours and consequently with different treatments. The objective of this article is to publish the most recent updates in the classification of these tumors and to provide the clinician with a learning tool the diagnosis and treatment of the most frequent odontogenic tumors in cats and dogs.
