    El presente artículo es una aproximación al modo como San Juan de la Cruz, místico y humanista de soberbia formación que vivió en la compleja España del siglo XVI, combina los temas y elementos poéticos del Cantar de los Cantares bíblico, junto con la visión religiosa y literaria del Renacimiento, para crear su poema Cántico Espiritual. De entre las múltiples perspectivas por las que se podría haber optado, esta breve aproximación se limita a poner de manifiesto el modo como San Juan de la Cruz reinterpreta conceptos tradicionalmente cristianos, tales como: el amor de Dios, el matrimonio o la naturaleza, desde la percepción humanista del universo como un conjunto identificado con Dios y, por tanto, con la belleza y armonía absolutas.

    This article is an approach to the way San Juan de la Cruz, mystic and humanistic of superb education lived in the complex Spain of the XVI century; it combines the poetic topics and elements in the biblical Song of Songs, along with the religious and literary vision of the Renaissance in order to create the spiritual canticle poem. From the different perspectives that could have been chosen, this brief approach focuses on establishing the way San Juan de la Cruz interprets traditional Christian concepts such as: the love of God, marriage or the nature, from the humanistic perspective of the universe as an ensemble identified with God, and therefore with absolute beauty and harmony.
