  • Resumen
    • An examination of an early 16th-century Book of Hours in the Stockholm Royal Library. The writer asserts that the book contains clear internal evidence that it served as a vademecum, or book designed to aid a traveler, for its patron, a Jerusalem pilgrim. She discusses the book's texts for the Jerusalem pilgrim in relation to other texts in the genre. She examines the book's images, beginning with two unprecedented grisaille miniatures that accompany the Holy Land prayers. She situates the codex within a context of other texts and images made for or used by Holy Land pilgrims around 1500.
