Resumen de Het leven en werk van de Brusselse glasschilder Claes I Rombouts en diens zonen, volgens nieuwe archivalische vondsten

Edmond Roobaert

  • The article discusses the life and work of the Brussels, Belgium glassworker Claes I Rombouts and his sons in the light of new archival research. Rombouts who was active between 1493 to 1526 is allegedly considered to be one of the master glassworkers of the province of Brabant, in the low countries. His three sons named Jan, Cornelius, and Claes II worked in the same studio as their father and differentiation between their work is sometimes not made, due to its collaborative nature. Other topics discussed include his nobel patrons, his presence at the Paleis op de Coudenberg (Palace on the Coudenberg), and his religious patrons from Belgian monasteries.
