The writer considers the impact of new information provided by new techniques of panel-painting analysis on his proposals in relation to the evolution of painting in the Norther Netherlands in the 15th century, originally published in 1980. The studies conducted, whether historical or scientific, have resulted in only minor modifications of what the writer published in 1980. The most significant amendment is an increase in the significance of Lambrecht Rutghensz, also known as Albert van Outwater. His identification with Master H in the Turin-Milan Hours illuminates the transmission of Eyckian models in the Northern Netherlands.
