    • An essay is presented on the 18th-century art market and specialized art auctions as described in the 1730 manuscript “Vertoogh over de apocrijfe schilders” (“Remonstrance about apocryphal painters”) by Jacob Campo Weyerman. The author describes stories about art and art dealers in the Low Countries in Weyerman's writing. Other topics include the dealing of secondhand paintings and goods, foreign dealers' purchases of art in Dutch and Flemish cities, and copies on the 18th-century art market.
