The article discusses Roman bronze sculptures at the court of King Gustavus III of Sweden, including the 1768 sculpture “Hermaphrodite” by Giacomo Zoffoli which given to Gustavus III's mother Louisa Ulrica, as well as sculptures by sculptors Luigi Valadier and Francesco Righetti. Also discussed are Gustavus III's trips to Italy to purchase sculpture, sculptor Johan Tobias Sergel's aid to the king in purchasing sculpture, and the placement of the sculptures in the Royal Palace, Stockholm, Sweden.
