  • The article discusses the art collector Pietro Bembo and his collection of small devotional and functional objets d'art as documented through evidence of letters addressed to Bembo from papal secretary Flavio Crisolino. The author describes a commission by Bembo from goldsmith Antonio da San Marino, an associate of the artist Raphael, to create a set of liturgical vessels. Other topics include da San Marino's career, designs for metalwork by Raphael, and a pax that was part of the commission.
