  • The article focuses on the painting “The conversion of Mary Magdalene,” by Paolo Veronese. It states that before the work presented in the Gallery it was perceived to depict Christ and woman taken in adultery,but upon acquisition in 1876 it was retitled St. Mary laying aside her jewels. Moreover, it notes that the picture was known with the title for more than a century.
