  • Resumen
    • As Unix networks continue to grown in size and complexity, system management methods must envolve as well. In this article we discuss a typical development of Bcfg2and describe its sophisticated configuration management capabilities. We present information about the enviroment at Argonne National Laboratory's Mathematics and Computer Science Division and the common tasks we in the systems group must perform, providing an overview of the tools used in our implementation of Bcfg2. We then discuss the procedural and qualitative impact that Bcfg2 has had on the way we manage our systems. Our aim is to describe what an enviroment with a comprehensive configuration management infrastructure looks like and to explain why one might want to invest the time needed to set it up.
