Estudios de turismo para el departamento del Quindío

    El presente texto manifiesta la importancia de un centro de estudio turístico apoyado en la investigación y aplicación de indicadores, buscando contribuir a la formulación de propuestas para el departamento del Quindío que aporten a la competitividad y desarrollo sostenible. Para la investigación se utilizó un método inductivo, exploratorio y descriptivo. En la primera fase se realizó un acercamiento inicial con los prestadores de servicios turísticos, de quienes mediante una encuesta aplicada se obtuvieron datos iniciales, para un diagnóstico acerca de la sensibilización actual de los empresarios del Quindío, frente a la conservación del medio ambiente y el uso adecuado de estadísticas que permitan tomar decisiones entorno a la actividad turística. Finalmente, se concluyó que es pertinente realizar un centro de estudio turístico, debido a que no se cuenta con fuentes estadísticas que monitoreen la oferta para aplicar el modelo de ciclo de vida del destino turístico de Richard Butler.

    The present text manifests the importance of having a center for touristic studies backed up in investigation and in the application of indicators, that allows to  maintain the touristic activity monitored, looking forward to contribute to the formulation of innovative proposals for the department of Quindío. An inductive, exploratory and descriptive method was used. In the first phase of this project an initial approach with the touristic service providers came true, whom by means of an opinion survey applied right in their establishments, it was posible to achieve initial data for a diagnosis and reflection in connection with the touristic activity. Finally, it was concluded that it is relevant to conduct a center for touristic studies, due to the lack of statistical sources that monitor the offer and this way apply the model of life cycle of the touristic destination of Richard Butler.
