    En los últimos 20 años se han sucedido varias publicaciones en torno al castillo-palacio de La Calahorra (Granada), aunque aún se está lejos de tener un estudio completo de este magno edificio.  Coincidiendo con el V centenario, se incide en su proceso constructivo, ahondando críticamente en la historiografía y las fuentes que han tratado esta cuestión. Se apuntalan algunas hipótesis, se realizan nuevas aportaciones que amplían el horizonte cronológico, al tiempo que se indaga sobre las posibles causas que motivaron la construcción de sus diversas partes.

    In the last 20 years several publications have happened concerning the castle-palace of La Calahorra in Granada, though we are still far from having a complete study of this magnificent building. Coinciding with the fifth centenary, we would like to focus in its building process, going deeply and critically into the historiography and the sources that have treated this question. Some hypotheses are being strengthen at the same time new contributions are widening the chronological horizon, In the meantime, we continue our researches on the possible reasons that motivated the construction of its diverse parts.
