Aborto eugenésico: actitud ante el diagnóstico de un feto malformado

    El aborto eugenésico es la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo cuando se puede predecir con probabilidad o certeza que el feto nacerá con un defecto o enfermedad. La Ley de Salud Sexual y Reproductiva y de Interrupción Voluntaria del Embarazo establece que se podrá realizar un aborto en los casos que exista riesgo de graves anomalías en el feto, malformaciones incompatibles con la vida o una enfermedad extremadamente grave e incurable en el momento del diagnóstico y que así lo confirme un Comité Clínico. En España, en 2010 se interrumpieron voluntariamente 3.361 embarazos alegando riesgo para el feto, mientras que en el 2011 fueron 3.590 embarazos. Estos abortos representan cerca del 3% del total de todas las interrupciones: un 2,8% por riesgo de anomalías graves en el feto, y 0,3% por anomalías graves incompatibles con la vida o enfermedad extremadamente grave o incurable.

    The eugenic abortion is the voluntary interruption of the pregnancy when it is possible to predict with probability or certainty that the fetus will be born with a fault or disease. The Law of Sexual and Reproductive Health and of Voluntary Interruption of the Pregnancy, it establishes that it will be possible realize an abortion in the cases that there exists risk of serious anomalies in the fetus, foetal incompatible anomalies with the life or an extremely serious and incurable disease in the moment of the diagnosis and like that a Clinical Committee confirms it. In Spain, in 2010 3.361 pregnancies were interrupted voluntarily invoking risk for the fetus, whereas in 2011 they were 3.590 pregnancies. These abortions represent near 3 % of the total of all the interruptions: 2, 8 % for risk of serious anomalies in the fetus, and 0, 3 % for serious life incompatible anomalies or extremely serious or incurable disease.
