Resumen de Una evaluación de la justificación moral del aborto: Respuestas a Lariguet

A fin de proveer una justificación moral del aborto, Guillermo Lariguet escribió en 2012 un artículo titulado “Cómo es posible justificar moralmente el aborto”. En un breve texto publicado en Dilemata en mayo de 2014, yo expresé mis dudas y objeciones sobre la argumentación de Lariguet, y él, a su vez, dio respuesta y presentó sus críticas en un texto publicado en el mismo número de la revista. En el presente texto, respondo a sus críticas y objeciones además de poner de manifiesto que mis dudas iniciales estaban justificadas. Al final se concluye que, a pesar de la pericia de Lariguet y de su esfuerzo por dar coherencia a su postura, hay problemas serios que desafían su propuesta de justificación moral que no fueron abordados en su respuesta y que cuestionan la plausibilidad de la posición misma que busca justificar el aborto.

In order to provide a moral justification for abortion, Guillermo Lariguet wrote in 2012 an article entitled "How we can morally justify abortion." (In Spanish). In a short text published in Dilemata in May of 2014, I expressed my doubts and objections to Lariguet’s argumentation, and, in turn, he responded and provided criticism in a text published in the same issue of the journal. In this text, I respond to his criticisms and objections, besides of showing that my initial doubts were well justified. It is concluded that, despite the expertise of Lariguet and his effort to bring coherence to his position, there are still serious problems that challenge his proposal of moral justification which were not addressed in his previous answer and question the plausibility of the position itself to justify abortion.
