En esta presentación al volumen se exploran diversas vías para penetrar en el universo de las relaciones entre los dioses y las guerras en contextos bien distintos del mundo antiguo. Los hombres, como agentes de las relaciones analizadas, generan una forma de sublimar y comprender la presunta participación de los dioses en sus avatares bélicos ante la consideración de que solo su concurso puede conducirlos al deseado triunfo. Esta visión panorámica discurre desde situaciones específicas del Próximo Oriente hasta el henoteísmo de época imperial romana, pasando por el uso de technai mediante las que se pretende conseguir el beneplácito divino.

In this presentation for the volume we explore several ways for the treatment of the subject: the relationship between gods and wars in different context of the Ancient World. Humans, as agents in these relationships, elaborate ways of sublimation and understanding the divine implication in their war avatars. The reason is based on the fact that only the divine support can drive them to the victory. Our paramount perspective runs from some specific Near Eastern situations to the Roman imperial henotheism, including the use of technai to reach the divine accord.
