  • The essay examines the ways in which British author Virginia Woolf and U.S. artist Georgia O'Keeffe approached themes of intimacy and alienation in their work. Emphasis is given to an analysis of O'Keeffe's painting “The Lawrence Tree” and Woolf's novel “To the Lighthouse.” The author also discusses the amount of risk associated with deciding to create and issue a piece of art or literature.
