  • The writer attributes a drawing in a German private collection, previously thought to have been by Giovanni Battista Franco, to Girolamo Sellari da Carpi. He identifies the figure in the drawing as a fallen warrior with his horse, based on a figure on a Roman amazon sarcophagus in Rome's Museo Vaticano. The writer goes on to consider other drawings by da Carpi based on the sarcophagus.
