Resumen de Frankreich in Frankfurt-Architekturimporteure um 1800 in Frankfurt am Main

Ludwig Schwab

  • A strong French influence affected architecture in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in around 1800. The people mainly responsible for this were a number of architects who had trained at the Académie Royale de l'Architecture and at the École Polytechnique, Paris, and who shaped the architectural scene in the city until the mid 19th century. This article examines French influences on the work of the protagonists of Frankfurt am Main's architectural scene at that time: Johann Georg Christian Hess, Nicolas de Pigage, Nicolas Alexandre Salins de Montfort, and Johann Friedrich Christian Hess.
