Resumen de Intervención arqueológica en el Convento de la Merced (Elche, Alicante)

  En este artículo se presentan los principales resultados de la intervención arqueológica, llevada a cabo por Alebus S.L. en 2011, en el Convento de la Merced de Elche. Durante los trabajos se exhumaron restos constructivos pertenecientes a los baños árabes, así como diferentes pavimentaciones del claustro. También se han documentado algunos restos que, posiblemente, pertenecieron a la iglesia barroca derribada tras la Guerra Civil y una necrópolis de los siglos XVIII y XIX relacionada con dicha edificación.

  In this article we present the main results of the archaeological excavations, carried out by Alebus SL in 2011, in Convento de la Merced, at the city of Elche. During the development of the archaeological works, some remains from the arab baths were exhumed, as well as diverse floors from the cloister. Have also been documented some remains that possibly belonged to the baroque church demolished after the Civil War and a necropolis of the 18th and 19th centuries related to such building.
