Resumen de Der spätgotische Bauzustand des Grazer Doms' (Pfarrkirche Hl. Ägidius, Hofkirche Friedrichs III., seit 1786 Domkirche): Kritische Überlegungen zu seiner bisherigen kunsthistorischen Einordnung

Gudrun Ponn-Lettner

  • The article discusses the history of the late-Gothic cathedral in Graz, Austria, begun as a parish church in 1438, developed into a palace church of Friedrich III, and since 1786 a cathedral. Specifically examined is the building's art history and state of construction, as well as questions about how the structure, which reflects the architecture of the Mendicant Dominican friars, should be stylistically classified. The author cites the differing classification opinions found in the works of such authors as Viktor Thiel and Rochus Kohlbach, and particularly Johann Graus.
