The attribution of a Crucifixion and Last Judgment diptych (Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York) to Jan van Eyck must be revised based on a comparison of the diptych with other work by Van Eyck and by his contemporaries. It is likely that the diptych was produced by a workshop active in Bruges between 1440 and 1445 that was perhaps run by a bookseller and in which worked artists who were very familiar with Van Eyck's output.
