    En este artículo se describe e interpreta el choque violento a que fueron sometidas las comunidades nativas de América. Cómo se destruyeron sus formas de organización social y cómo se remplazaron por Estados que se encargaron de redistribuir los recursos naturales del continente. En este contexto, se pretende encontrar la identidad de un continente que reniega de su pasado indígena y de los conociemientos que permitieron que esas comunidades convivieran en un equilibrio permanente con el medio ambiente.

    This article describes and interprets the violent shock to which the native communities of America were subjected. How their forms of social organization were destroyed and how they were replaced by States which took charge of redistributing the natural resources of the continent. In this context, it tries to find the identity of a continent that denies its indigenous past and the knowledge that allowed those communities to coexist in permanent equilibrium with the environment.
