The materials of the Weald and Purbeck facies, in the Northern margin of the Southwestern Iberian basin, contains a system of incised-valley fill deposits. The deposits are arranged in two orders of transgressive-regressive sequences: parasequences and depositional sequences. The base of the depositional sequences are erosional surfaces formed by fluvial vertical incision during a relative sea-level fall. Near the village of Baldovar (Alpuente, Valencia) outcrops two incised-valleys. The lower one is a simple incised valley, related laterally with two parasequences. The upper one is a compound incised-valley, composed by four depositional sequences of beach sandstones. Along time incised valleys are recurrent and changed from depth and narrow to shallow and wide.
