  • Resumen
    • A reassessment of the work of Rémy Vuibert. After the removal of several erroneous attributions and the rediscovery of a few rare pieces by Vuibert, his interpretive engravings (21 prints) and inventive engravings (5 prints) remain meager. Only two paintings are known. However, if his work as a painter seems so limited, it is because Vuibert distinguished himself primarily in fresco decoration. He worked after the drawings by Poussin on the decoration of the Grande Galerie in the Louvre. Other projects include the hall of the Hôtel Hesselin; the ceiling of the second staircase of the Hôtel La Vrillière, the fresco decoration of seven rooms in the Château de Tanlay, the ceiling of a bed chamber in the winter apartment of the Palais Mazarin, the decoration of the dining room and a project for the ceiling of the staircase of the Hôtel d'Avaux, and the ceiling of the nuns' choir in the Chapel of the Visitation in Moulins.
