http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/2175-7968.2010v2n26p275This article aims to show the formation of cultural identity based on sign language and the sphere to which it relates. It presents the relationship between the translations of texts from other languages into sign language as a formative element of such a cultural identity. This is clear in the Letras-LIBRAS course and is based on social and linguistic interaction a in the available translations. The need for further study and research on translation into sign language is also highlighted.
