Resumen de Vers la fin de l'inaliénabilité des collections publiques franc¸aises?

  • The restitution of an ensemble of manuscripts held in the Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris, to South Korea has major consequences for national heritage. The manuscripts were acquired by Admiral Roze during an expedition to Korea under the Second Empire. Returning them to Korea is a deliberate sidestepping of the strict rules set down in law number 2010–501 of May 18, 2010. It could see state collections being dismantled solely on the wishes of the President and put an end to the fundamental principle that the collections of French state museums cannot be deaccessioned.
