The article discusses temporality in art with particular focus given to time in art from the modern era. It studies the relationship between the temporality of a text and that of an art work. The author notes that the first theses dedicated to the question of time in works appeared during the late 20th century and adds that contemporary projects focusing on Western art and temporality and aesthetic approaches are emerging. Contemporary theoretical and critical discourses dealing with art are examined. Topics discussed include studying the representation of time in works, the work "La récolte de la Manne," by 17th century French painter Nicolas Poussin, and movement in art.
